Having seen several wonderful 4-door cab conversions done by a few of our talented kitbashers, I figured I would try one myself. This is the Greenlight IH ambulance, converted to a 4-door cab destined to become a children's hospital unit with InQuarters' new decals. I'll keep updating this as I go.

Looking good Mike. Thanks for sharing the conversion from day cab to a crew cab.

Can I ask what you used for body filler? And if it would work on plastic?

Looking for so far.

And here it is fully painted and clearcoated. Detail painting to come, plus the fun part - stretching the chassis. :)

My InQuarters decal order arrived this morning so it was time to try out the grille decal. As you know, the grille on the GL IH ambulance is not a separate piece, so if you are painting it you either need to mask off the grille to try and save it or go to Plan B. Rich's new detail sheet gives you Plan B in the form of a very nice grille surround decal. I painted the existing area flat black and then very carefully dry brushed silver chrome paint onto the raised vertical bars. The grille surround area is very tricky as it has different curves. I found it easiest to cut Rich's grille surround decal into four quarters, which allowed me to fit each piece more snugly than keeping the decal intact. I also added the DuraStar emblems to the doors - a nice touch on this great decal sheet!

Mike looks good, save a little more black for the handle, I found that outline decal easy to install, however my first attempt with the paint didn't cover everything inside the decal outline.
