Custom GSP units

Post by Rich » Sat Jan 27, 2018 3:26 pm

I have just finished up these two Fords and Charger for a customer. They feature automotive base coat/clear coat paint. I custom mixed the gray to darken it up a bit. The light for the photos makes it look lighter than it is. The lightbars on the Fords are custom laser cut acrylic, with decal overlay and painted with Tamiya clear blue. I made the LoJack antennas and the whip antennas on the Fords. I also made the LED units under the rear visors.

Great looking set of cars. I really like that light bar on the fords.

Very much oozing in great awesomeness, Rich! Who carries the correct paint colors? Gee, I wonder, too, where you got the GSP decals. :)

Here is a nightmare we all wish never happens. What appears to be perfect paint, has ruined the models. At least the two Chargers. This is the first time I have had acrylic urethane crack. Cracking can come from too much humidity, or too much paint too fast. I really lay on the last coat of clear, and suspect this is what happened. There is nothing you can do but start over. I noticed what I thought was a scratch as I was packing them to ship out. At least I caught it before they were shipped.
