Santa Barbara County Fire K-9

Post by Rich » Mon Jan 17, 2022 5:00 pm

This is a Luxury Collectibles Suburban in 1:43 scale. It was stripped and painted gloss black using automotive base coat/clear coat. I drilled one hole in the roof for an antenna. The unit comes with a roof rack, that is sized for a Tahoe. I extended it using Evergreen half round, but did not care for the looks of the splices. I ended up cutting the long pieces off, sanding the mounts, and attaching all new long half round strips. I added an LED light rack to the front headliner. These models were very well done, and scaled out to the same dimensions as the FRR Tahoes. I used a Tahoe grille, Tahoe wheels and tires, mirrors and the rear plastic part for the step bumper. All fit without any modifications. These are getting harder to find. I have a few left from a stash I acquired before they went under.

Great work. Only you will notice the rack difference.

I have a couple stashed as well with no idea what I will do with them. By chance I stopped by the old honey hole I picked mine up a today to see if they had any more left. Only a white pearl Escalade and a few CTS coupes were on the shelf. Frowny face.
