Worked a bit on the pump panel. There are a lot of details to be made up based on the photos of it. Got a start with a mockup to gauge the scale of the panel and the placement of details. The large intake valve is made of plastic stock with a brass valve wheel. The beginning of the panel unit is on the left.

Nice job on that fancy ball valve, looks bang on! I see tabs soldered onto a circle of brass wire, with the rest ‘just’ plastic offcuts, placed strategically, easy enough until one considers the size! Pretty amazing miniaturization!

Believe it or not I have to miniaturize it. It projects out too far from the face of the pump panel. I have the panel unit built and then checked the dimensions of the valve and it sticks out! Good practice, though. I can salvage the brass ring part and the Storz coupling on the front. The rest needs to get shorter.

The pump panel unit is underway but with a lot of work ahead. Pump panels these days are getting more complicated and crowded with all sorts of gages, things to push and pull, etc. Here's where we are as of today with some additional things added to the rear of the body as well.

Here's some more for you to check out. The pump panel progress is slow but steady. Folding steps are now mounted on the body next to the panel and the SCBA storage doors are added along with the diesel fuel door. Don't really know why it has to be so big; perhaps something to do with recovery of fumes, etc. Anyway that's where we stand as of tonite.
