Atlanta BC Gran Fury

Post by Rich » Wed Oct 23, 2019 10:58 pm

Here is an FRR/MotorMax Diplomats done up as a Plymouth Gran Fury. It was an iconic police car, and used by most emergency services. It was not a bad model, very simple in fact. I took a blank one and converted it to a Plymouth Gran Fury. The only visible differences were the badging, and the grill color. I ran the decals years ago for some projects. I painted the normally black recesses in the grill a medium gray. The model was painted with automotive base coat/clear coat. The spotlights are from the Diplomat series, as is the Whelen 9300 series lightbar. The lightbar has the clear round sections as per the prototype. I just used a hole punch and cut the circles out of masking tape. I painted over them with Tamiya clear red. A simple high band antenna on the roof, and its done.

Awesome job Rich! Could almost swap out the decals and put San Francisco decals on it. Reminds me of a car from the Towering Inferno.

That's sharp. I totally dig the big #4 on the rear quarter panel

Thanks for sharing
