LA County FD E158 - 1/50th Fire Replicas conversion

Post by M1968Q » Tue Mar 26, 2019 1:56 am

Well I finally took the plunge and re-did a Fire Replicas model! Starting with the recently released red version of the Kentland Seagrave pumper, I re-did it as LA County Engine 158. LACO last bought Seagrave pumpers in 1985, but inherited a Seagrave similar to this one when the City of Gardena contracted for fire services in the late 90s. One of their Seagrave pumpers remained in service as the newly formed Engine 158, and was used for a few years before it was taken out of service and replaced with a County-spec KME. The Fire Replicas model was close enough, and after removing the Seagrave demo markings and the two smaller lightbars, I give you my version of E158. Decals by InQuarters and Fire Replicas (roof numbers). I'm not quite to the point of taking one of these models completely apart like Joe O., but the temptation is there. :) Actual picture of E158 pilfered from the internet, photographer unknown.
