GOC 1/64 Ford Crown Vic

Post by Sirentoys » Tue Feb 06, 2024 3:32 am

I know I am a bit fanatical on my sandbox scale cars. But the newly released 1/64 scale Ford Crown Vic from a new Chinese manufacturer GOC is truly on another level for this scale. The parts count in on par with larger scales and the details are amazing. There are even wipers and a rear view mirror in the interior. It is an early LX model but should build up well to an Interceptor.

For modeling, it comes apart very easy and the engineering is well thought out. It simply inscrews and the parts all pop out. Lens are lightly glued in. Logos are photo etched badges. The downside is the body has the door trim molded in. I am not sure what I will do on the first versions I got. I had preordered these from China - Aliexpress when they were first announced.

Now for the fun part, as I went to order some more, I found sellers offering them in kit form for about $15. I will need ot see how this differs from the built up model. But at first glance, it looks like it includes 2 sets of wheels, light bars but no chromed parts and markings. But is does also ahve a NYPD syle push bar.

They have annunced a black version that looks like a Interceptor with the street appearance package.

Didn't they release a police car version as well? I remember maybe seeing an LAPD version running around. I could be wrong and struggling to find it via Google now.

Either way, they're nice looking cars! Thanks for sharing.

There are some upcoming police cars for preorder. There is a NYPD, LAPD and a black unmarked and a chase version that is a NYPS blue Auxiliary. They are marketed under the Rollin moniker so I am not sure if they are the same brand or just one very similar. I have them on preorder and due around April. You know I will share once I get them.

Bonus last night I was able to get 7 of the kits off Aliexpress for about $13 each shipped. Say good bye to all those Greenlights in the extras box.

I am not sure of the police versions are the same GOC or a seperate brand. Everything I see is they are listed as Rollin not GOC. But these look good too. I will share once they get here. Bt they are still a few months out.

I received my first batch of the kits. Very nice. I wish more companies would do this. The casting is raw unpainted. There are quite a bit of parts to do different versions. The one thing missing are the Ford trasnfers. Here is what you get:
Body, chassis, interior, glass
2 sets of wheels to do either wheel covers or PI wheels
2 different push bars - Setina style and NYPD style
2 light bars - Vector and an LED

If you get these be carefully opening them as some of the smaller parts worked loose from the sprues.

For the price of about twice a Greenlight, these are well worth for us sandbox scale guys.
