KK 1/18 1974 Monaco’s

Post by Mark B » Wed Oct 25, 2023 11:02 am

I believe these cars are resin and the 74 Monaco was first released by KK in civilian, taxi and the Chicago Fire Department schemes some time ago. They have now announced four law enforcement versions being the Chicago PD, California Highway Patrol, Hazzard County Sheriff from the TV shows pilot episode and a Massachusetts State Police version. There are photos of the models around the web and whilst the model itself looks very good the markings, light bars and paint schemes etc are pretty average on the prototype photos. They are due out before the end of 2023, so hopefully these issues are corrected.

Thanks for bringing these to our attention. They look fairly decent. The light bar's look a little small for the scale of the car otherwise they look nice.

I wish they would have picked an example that isn't already made by Greenlight though. It gets tiresome seeing the same scheme's all the time.

Well gents the final production models have hit retail. They are a very nice copy of the Monaco motor vehicle. Unfortunately the issues surrounding the markings and small light bars etc were not changed. I will probably get the CHP version.
