Trax Models Australia

Post by Mark B » Sat Dec 17, 2022 4:38 am

Trax is a Australian based model company. They have been around for over 30 years. They specialise in Australian cars from the 1960’s to current day. Up until a few years ago they had very little when it came to police vehicles. They have released around a dozen or so Australian police cars now. Next year is going to be pretty good for those of us who collect police cars. Their recent announcements for the first half of next year will three new castings of classic Aussie police vehicles. Attached is a link to a 1988 to 1991 Holden VN Commodore in New South Wales Police livery. Takes me back to when I first came on the job in 1990.

I have a Trax "Blitz Buggy" brush rig that I got a long while back. They make well detailed models at a decent price.
Retired 2/27/2021 after 32 years & 2 months on the job. 91 years combined between my grandfather, father, and me.

Here is a link to their upcoming Ford F100 caged truck in New South Wales Police livery. Ford Australia ceased importing them in 1992 and it was the end of an era. They made great police vehicles and were feared by most due to the ability to put around a dozen offenders in the prisoner holding area. Ford Australia announced this year they are re starting the importation of the F 150 starting next year. Hopefully we will see the return of the F150 police vehicle in Australia.

Link to their current and future releases. As LT146 stated, the models have a high degree of detail. They are all 1/43 scale.

Those are nice. Always was a fan of Australian police models. I remember Biante was going to release some in 1/64. But we never saw them. I do have a couple white Commodore and Falcons I want to do. But I have not found any good decals.

Biante just fell off the police cars very quickly. It was a shame as the ones they released in 1/18 scale were excellent models. They are also very expensive to buy these days on the secondary market. One of the former employees of Biante left them and started Apex Replicas. Again some great police models were released in 1/18 then Biante bought them out and it’s history repeating itself as the police models have dried up.
