1991 GMC Suburban in 1:64 scale

Greenlight has announced this for a 2023 release. I am sure a few of us are wondering if its a Code 3 copy. Interesting that they (Greenlight) are doing these older pieces that Code 3 has already done. The first releases are NYC EMS.

This should be interesting. Perhaps they found some Amercom molds that never made it to production.

Its like they are half listening to their collectors. We ask for a new Suburban. And they give us an old one and break their arm patting themselves on the back.

I dont know if everyone missed it, or no one cares about this one. I have only seen one comment liking it, on all the Facebook pages. Not one comment on my own page. Maybe its just not what some were looking for. I think a new Suburban would have been a hit, but again, I find it increasingly hard to figure out just what it is that collectors want. There really was not a lot of excitement over the 92 ambulance. Again, I am guessing a new one would have gone over better.

I mistakenly thought this was the same era as the Code 3. It is actually the “Squarebody” earlier one. SO that is good. But you are right that there wasn’t much reaction in the Diecast world to it. I will get the New York releases for the sake of completeness of the collection and one or 2 for customs. But after that I’m good. It would be cool if for the FDNY and NYPD versions they do them in the beat up mode so many of the photos on the net show.

I don't care at all for a reproduced Code 3 Suburban. The only reason I care at all about a re-release of the Code 3 ambulance is that there is nothing else out there and the box should be easy to mate up with a newer chassis currently available. Now, if as Jeff said, the Suburban is of the era before the Code 3 version, I'd buy one or two of them. Let's bring on some accurate modern stuff! Just my two cents. Mark

I'm not very interested in the Old Suburban. But, The Ambulance I'm interested in for sure.

It's Greenlight. The prices are affordable for the young collectors that are just getting started. I am just happy that they are being made. The ambulance will go well with period Code 3 fire models, like the Mack Cs and CFs. No complaints from me.

Considering this is a era suburban we have not seen a lot of, I consider this good news. Another plus is it we’ll be a good jump point for customizing.

The ambulances look good also, hopefully the box will find its way to other modern light duty trucks.
