Re: Fire Replicas Pierce Rescue

An inspiration to all of us that dabble in the fire models. Thanks Joe.

Re: Custom GSP units

As the days go by, it gets worse. Not much you can do when the entire clear coat cracks.

Re: Custom GSP units

Here is a nightmare we all wish never happens. What appears to be perfect paint, has ruined the models. At least the two Chargers. This is the first time I have had acrylic urethane crack. Cracking can come from too much humidity, or too much paint too fast. I really lay on the last coat of clear, a...

Custom GSP units

I have just finished up these two Fords and Charger for a customer. They feature automotive base coat/clear coat paint. I custom mixed the gray to darken it up a bit. The light for the photos makes it look lighter than it is. The lightbars on the Fords are custom laser cut acrylic, with decal overla...

Re: Richmond Rescue Squad

The FRR Twin Sonic is on a plastic inject with a ton of other clear parts. That tooling is owned by Greenlight now. Neo tooled the Twin Sonic for the model, probably from Dennis's archives, as this was all a Dennis Deal project. Dennis photographed and measured the unit extensively at Columbus, and ...

Re: Welly 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit

There was a time, and I am sure you remember Jeff. If FRR got the slightest detail wrong, the forums would go wild. They would call Dennis out in public, and go to every forum and every place they could think of and post negative reviews because an antenna was in the wrong spot, or the license plate...

Re: Welly 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit

I could live with the off scale if I had to. But honestly, in your entire life, how many police cars has a person ever seen, with a molded in spoiler? It brings what could have been a nice model down to child toy level. You really cant make a true replica from it, because of the molded in spoiler. I...

Welly 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit

The new Dodge body style 2016 Charger is out from Welly. This one never had potential, and is actually much worse than I thought it would be. First, it is not 1:24 scale. It is typical Welly fit the box, at or around 1:27 or 1:28. At least they print both scales on the box, so take your pick. Either...

Potential ambulances

American Excellence just had a "buy 2 get 1 free" sale. I grabbed a few 1:43 scale station wagons to convert to ambulances that were run by funeral homes or private companies. Those vintage FRR parts have come in so handy for projects like this.
