This is a Greenlight 1:64 scale. I took off the rack, and drilled out the mushroom fasteners. Once I got the chassis off, I drilled out the stems so I could use screws to put the chassis back on. I took the rest of it apart, and stripped the cab and chassis. They were painted with automotive base co...

Miami Dade command post
Not a real unit, I wanted to see how this 1:64 scale Prevost bus would look in Miami Dade colors. The bus was stripped, and painted with automotive paint. The black windows on the upper section are paint, just as the models come, but I modified the look a little bit. The side door windows and front ...

Re: What do you use for Antennas?
I use the bristles from a large paint brush. I found the biggest one I could, and I cut the bristles off a few at a time. I paint them either black or silver with rattle cans. In 1:43 scale, you can get multiple lengths from one bristle. They are not always round, but give the illusion that they are...

He talks about a KME in 1:64 scale right after the 1:50th scale news. He shows a sample. It does not look like the one that New Frontier just put out. Makes you wonder.

Re: Oshkosh T3000
I have gone as far as I can for now on this one. It will be several months before I get the new decals for the large numbers. As I noted previously, I was not happy with the blue, because there was no white under it. So I am printing them again on an upcoming sheet. If you are a fan of these trucks,...

Finished this up today. Its a Greenlight in 1:64 scale. It was taken apart and stripped. I painted it with MDFR colors I had custom mixed. The only changes I made to the model, was to sand the rails off of the topper. It too was painted with the same automotive paint. Once back together, it got deca...

Re: Oshkosh T3000
Starting to do the little details, now that is back together. I am using decals for the marker lights. Its time consuming. Each one gets white first, then the appropriate color. I had to do a bit of touch up to the red paint, where I chipped it. I am leaving the mirrors off until I am finished with ...

Re: Oshkosh T3000
I have started the decal process. Normally I would do this after I get it put back together, but there are too many parts that I could break off with all the handling it takes to decal it. The blue around the 5 and 6 does not have white under it, and it gets really dark. So I am going to run the num...

Re: Oshkosh T3000
I did a T1500 many years ago, but sold it. I am going to do another one next year, so I will do a follow along here. I may run some decals for a US Navy version of the T1500. There are plenty of them still in service, and some nice looking ones too.
