Re: Rainy day kit bash

Got a bit more done today. I finished the battery boxes. They are cut down from the Fold A Tank holder from the Code 3 Freighliner tanker. I mocked up the wheels and tires. The front tires have a pretty tall profile, so I am looking over my stash for some that are not as tall. The interior is painte...

Rainy day kit bash

Its been raining all day, so no better way than to sit in the shop and work on a project. I started this so many years ago. I got the front bumper done, and now working on the side boxes below the doors of the cab. Its a 1:64 scale Code 3 FDNY rescue body, and an Ertl International Paystar. The Pays...

They are very receptive to suggestions. They did a good job correcting it.

Re: Oshkosh T3000

Hard to believe that was over 2 years ago. Once I finished the body, it was primed. The primer didn't seem to go on all that well. Then disaster struck. The paint reacted with the primer. Both the same brand, same type. So it went in to the stripper, which ruined the plastic and the filler I had use...

Re: 1991 GMC Suburban in 1:64 scale

I dont know if everyone missed it, or no one cares about this one. I have only seen one comment liking it, on all the Facebook pages. Not one comment on my own page. Maybe its just not what some were looking for. I think a new Suburban would have been a hit, but again, I find it increasingly hard to...

1991 GMC Suburban in 1:64 scale

Greenlight has announced this for a 2023 release. I am sure a few of us are wondering if its a Code 3 copy. Interesting that they (Greenlight) are doing these older pieces that Code 3 has already done. The first releases are NYC EMS.

1:24 scale Caprice from Greenlight

When announced, they said it was a Caprice Classic. The Classic has lower body rocker molding, and mid line trim. I was hoping they didnt copy the 1:43 scale version which has many problems as well as the moldings. Well, they did not. Its a 9C1 police car. Its going to be offered in white, so it wil...

Re: New ambulance from Greenlight

I have gone over the photos a ton, and notice that every detail on the Code 3 box, is on the Greenlight. But all the separate parts are not molded in. The reason I think its been copied, is the side entry door. I always thought on the Code 3, that it was too wide. Its been carried over to the Greenl...
