Re: Chicago Police 1961 Checker Marathon

Dick, there are some highly accurate decals available in 1:43 scale. Thanks to Greg and his wealth of knowledge on Chicago PD history, I was able to get a sheet done with about anything you need, including the star with the yellow center. That is still a lot of money for a single car. Way too rich f...

Re: The last of the V8's in 1:43 scale

I am with you Jim. All the MFP cars would make great models. I am surprised it has taken 39 years to bring out decent priced and decent sized models from Mad Max. There was that Auto Art release several years back, but it was pretty expensive, even for a 1:18 scale car. However it is no different th...

Mad Max today

In celebration of the new V8 Interceptor, here are some photos of a "today" version of what Max's Interceptor might have looked like. Its a basic FRR 2008 Charger. I stripped it, and painted in yellow. Then masked off the yellow and painted the red. Then masked off the red and painted the blue. The ...

The last of the V8's in 1:43 scale

Greenlight has announced a 1:43 scale version of Max Rockatansky's V8 Interceptor, from the Mad Max movie. Also known as the Pursuit Special, it was made from a 73 Ford Falcon XB GT coupe. Now we need the yellow interceptors and pursuit cars.

Re: Welcome

I have unpinned this topic, as it seems we are at about where we were before the move. We have 104 members, about what we had that were active before. Its nice to see some old faces, and some new ones. As many move away from social media and back to familiar territory, I would remind you. This forum...

Re: The Mother Jugs and Speed ambulance

The basic raised roof is now done. I have started to sand the bow in the top. That will take a day or so. The angles for the front and rear are close, and the entire assembly sits on the roof pretty well. It is my hopes that the welting will cover the seams, so I don't have to do any filling. At thi...

Re: The Mother Jugs and Speed ambulance

I will never understand why we have never seen a model of this. Probably the most recognized ambulance in history. Still, 42 years later and not one single model.

Re: The Mother Jugs and Speed ambulance

Here is a shot today, of the raised roof. That is about where I left off when I took a break. Today I spent some time sanding the shape after I made the shell. I reinforced the shell with some .20 plastic, knowing that I could sand through the outside skin. In this photo, it is pretty close. I will ...

The Mother Jugs and Speed ambulance

I started this project, and ran a follow along on Emergency Modeler two years ago. I got stalled, looking for that elusive photo that would show me more details. Over the years, I have collected about every piece of information I could find about the ambulances from the movie. I have all of the stil...
